Fun times

Sunday we checked out the new park in town. They have this neat splash pad. Ryder loved it. It was entertaining to watch him slowly explore the water fountains. We had to strip him out of his clothes before the ride home. We did not bring towels or a change of clothes. He was freezing!

My Monkeys and Grandpa T

We have been enjoying our summer and all the male bonding time over the past 2 weeks. Wy is into everything. He loves to climb into drawers, baskets and up on shelves and steps. We have a little monkey!

Our Sat. morning ritual in bed cuddling with mommy.
Oh boy!
Grandpa T came up for a visit from Atlanta. The boys enjoyed his visit. Ryder's face is full of joy.

Wy with Grandpa Thurston.

Ryder also got lots of Uncle Brian time. Chubs also love Uncle Brian.

Congrats Abby & Chris!

My friend Abby got married in early June. It was a beautiful wedding in northern IL. Kevin and I enjoyed an afternoon without kids on his birthday. Thanks to my parents for watching them for a night. It was my first night away from Wyatt. We both did remarkably well.

Friends Matt & Jess who was 8 months pregnant here.

I was honored to be in a wedding for my friend Abby in June. SO excited for her future with hubby Chris. They are an amazing couple and I wish them the best of luck as they create a family of their own.

Memorial Day weekend

We had beautiful weather on Memorial Day. We headed to a local park for some family time. Ryder was beaming. Wyatt sat in his stroller for the most part to contain him. The baby swings were too large for him

This is the typical end of the day around here. Ryder loves paci time. He only gets one at bedtime now. He tries to argue for one at naptime, but no sir. We are approaching an end with the paci soon.
Ryder and Wy playing together. It happens more and more, but that includes some increased aggression and bullying from big brother. He gets no warnings for hurtful behavior. It is an automatic time-out.

9 months & teething

I am a day late on Wyatt's monthly post. He turned 9 months yesterday and we were preparing for our family photo shoot. It went fabulous. Can't wait to see them.
This past month Wyatt has sprouted 3 new teeth. 1 on top and 2 on bottom.
He has been happy overall, but gave me some good looks this day.

He has been up a few times a night during his teeth cutting periods. We think he is working on #4 on top.
He has been babbling and squeeling up a storm. Some dada dada and momma, nannana. Not sure if he has made the correlation.
He is full of spunk and spirit.

He has been climbing everything. He climbs into drawers and baskets. He is in full exploration mode.
He eats all stage 3 foods and we have begun giving him small bite of table food. HE loves to eat food. He still breastfeeds.
Not sure what he weighs, but he is getting heavier.
He can stand for a few seconds on his own.
He love the animals.
He is the biggest ham ever.
He slept 9 hours straight for the first time this month. That was 1 night. He has given is a few 8 hours nights. I think the teething has set him back a little.
He makes up for all the wake-ups with his charm.

A busy May

So we had a busy May. Full of work and play.
We celebrated my 35th birthday at the zoo. No better place to be with a bunch of kids.
My friend Carissa met us there from Peoria and helped make the day perfect. The kids did great. We even went out for pizza afterwards. It was one of my best birthdays to memory.
Wy at the end of the day at Brookfield Zoo

Hudson the polar bear was right on the other side of the glass. He kept staring at my kids. I think he wanted to eat them.

Carissa and Wy watching the dolphins

Wy loved the water bottle. He guzzled a bunch of water. Good thing it was 100 that day.
